Do you suffer from analysis paralysis? Have you ever put off a decision, just because you didn’t want to make the decision?

Friend and fellow daily emailer, Rod Aparicio, recently summed up a way around this.

He was talking about not minding if something doesn’t go as planned. (In his case, a dive – he dives!!).

His simple philosophical truism was this: “There will be more dives.”

I’m currently * ahem * diving into Jonathan Stark’s 5-Day Podcast Challenge. Yes, and I keep feeling the urge to throw decision-shaped obstacles into my path.

Why?

Because I’ve “done this before.” I’ve had a podcast.

So rather than take the simple, clear, and sage advice, I’m stuck in the “but I used X last time…should I keep using that?” mindset.

And from there, it’s a slippery slope to “I wonder what else there is out there.”

And that way lies madness.

But luckily, Rod’s phrase came back to me today (thanks, Rod!).

It doesn’t matter what I choose today. I can change anything. I can change everything. I can take the path laid out before me and see if I like it better than my previous podcast experience.

And if I don’t? Then I can close, open, import, export, undo, redo. Nothing is forever; just do the thing. There will be more dives.

Diving in,
James
