Before you commit—even if it seems small—make sure it’s worth it.
One of Kayte’s and my favourite bands (Lucius) is touring their best album—Wildewoman—next year for its 10th anniversary. Yes, and they’re stopping in Portland, ME, our nearest large (ish) American city!
The tickets are only $35!! We could take the kids!!!
BUT
4 tickets = $140
3 tanks of gas = $180
2 nights (for 4) accommodation = $500+
$820 USD = $1130 CAD
Plus food, 12 hours of driving, and a 4-day business/life disruption.
That’s an expensive concert. Even if we spent one night and didn’t take the kids.
Yet it felt like a $35 decision.
