Has anyone ever asked you about what you do? Or why? Or what you did on the way to getting where you are today? If so, you might be sitting on a goldmine.

A mountainous, untapped resource of helpfulness.

After all, if someone is asking you a question about what you do, odds are you can help more than just that one person. It’s worth considering how your answer might be interesting, inspiring, or useful for others as well.

Something I wish I’d done sooner was set up a system for capturing those answers. A simple system; nothing elaborate.

I mean, if you’re answering by email, all it takes is copying and pasting them into some kind of central repository. (Like an Obsidian vault, for example 🙂

And it’s never too late to start.

In fact, you may have noticed that two of the last four Creative Moments came from answers to questions people had asked me. The system works!

Funnily enough, I was, at the same time, in an email exchange with my friend Rod. Yes, and he was busy turning his answers to me into his next newsletter article. Talk about a virtuous circle.

So if you have a way to share things (like a blog or an account on any social media platform), I recommend you amplify your answer by posting it.

And even if you don’t (or don’t yet), you can at least set up a system to capture all that gold.

You’ll never regret having it on hand.

All that glitters,
James
