Have you ever tried to get something done on your site – or for a customer or client – and ended up thrashing away for hours?

Or have you struggled to figure out the algorithm or game at work on a platform?

If so, I feel you. Today, especially.

When I started this piece, I was sure it was going to be about what happens when a platform launches a new(ish) feature.

And how they want it to catch on so badly that they boost the performance of people who are willing to play ball.

On LinkedIn, the thing right now is those carousel posts. I don’t know how long the extra fire on them will last, but those in the know say now’s the time to make them.

I’m a little slower 🙂

So what I’m talking about is the Creator Mode Newsletter function. I (finally, if you ask my business coach, Ed) put mine into action today, launching a weekly version of this daily email newsletter. Woo hoo!

(Note: It’ll be old news to you, and its purpose is to bring people here 🙂

BUT THEN … I spent far too many hours trying to get a pop-up form activated on my homepage (looking at you ConvertKit!).

Eventually, I gave up.

Choosing the easier path, I’ve gone for an inline opt-in in my hero section, a move inspired by Kevin’s latest post at 7-Second Websites. (I suspect it’s the silver lining in all of this, because I LOVE it!)

The point is, sometimes, if you want to get something done – or you want better results – you simply have to jump through the hoops laid out before you.

Happy hoop-jumping,
James
