You’ve probably heard this before – probably more than once.

But it’s always true, AND you’ve probably not heard it from me yet 🙂

You don’t need to go all the way from beginner to advanced in one step. The trick is making steady, incremental improvements. Getting 1% better every day (or week – or whatever makes sense for you).

And then building on that growth, letting it compound.

Don’t compare your first version of your new thing to the tenth or hundredth version of someone else’s old thing.

In fact, probably better you don’t compare yourself to someone else at all.

I can think of many things I now take for granted that were once out of my reach and only became possible slowly over time:

  • being (usually) in control of my sleep,
  • closing sales on zoom calls,
  • having (had) a podcast,
  • fronting three different rock bands (so far),
  • playing a low F minor bar chord on the guitar, and
  • writing a daily email for over a month (!).

Do you have a similar list?

What are you going to grow next?

Happy one-percenting,
James
