If this daily newsletter were an album, then today’s piece would be its title track.
All you need to sustain a business or career (and your vital interest in it) is one creative moment every day. That’s my premise – both for this newsletter, in general, and this piece, in particular.
One moment a day when you dream about the possibilities your path holds.
One moment every day when you consider what doing this work can mean for you. What it can mean for your loved ones, your audience, your customers, and the world.
Obviously, you also need love, water, food, shelter, connection, and probably money to help you get those things. But you can achieve that in many different and easier ways than what you’re doing now. (Easier on paper, at least.)
You’ve chosen the path you’re on for a reason. Your work means something to you (even if you started out by accident, like I did – a topic for another day).
And one creative moment is all you need to remember why.
One moment to reconnect with that choice, to get excited about where you’re going next – or could go next – to fall back in love with your work.
One creative moment can be a lot more powerful than it looks.
Why not take one now,
James
