Have you ever wondered, “Why would I want to have an email list?”
Here’s my take (prompted by a LinkedIn conversation I had today):
If someone is on your email list,
Then when you see (or even create) something great and useful, you have a way to share it with them.
And if they like it, and let you know why they liked it and how they used it,
Then you can share that story in a future email, inspiring more people. You can also shine a light on that person (if they’re ok with it) and let other people know about their business too.
And on and on.
The way I see it, an email list is a great way to stay connected to like-minded people who are doing cool things in their lives and businesses.
The hope is that you can connect and grow together into the wild and uncertain future. And if what you have is one day what they need, then they at least know you exist. And vice versa.
All without handcuffing yourself to a platform or other billionaire-controlled system! (More or less.)
Uncuffed,
James
P.S. I also told someone today that “I try to keep it tight, light, and full of insight.” I love/hate it/me, lol.
P.P.S. I’m taking a week off of One Creative Moment starting Saturday, July 29, returning Monday, August 7. (Except for Tactical Tuesday, which I’ll schedule in advance.) Letting you know to make it real.
Keepin’ it tight, light, and full of insight, lol |
