A-ha! It seems this concept resonated with more than a few.
Responses ranged from sea kayaking to song-making to multi-day fasting!
It’s clear that people who value creative moments also value testing their limits 🙂
Today, I went for an hour-long walk in the rain.
I know, I know. It’s not like there was a 50-50 chance of me “making it.” But there was a 50-50 chance of me actually doing it, having decided that’s what I wanted to do today.
(I’ve become quite the fair-weather go-outsider.)
So it was a win, inspired by the “you can do hard things” vibe that thinking about misogi brought into my head.
(After this, I’m writing two more emails to add to a sequence I’m working on. I’ll tell you this for free: writing three thoughtful emails in a row is also a test of my limits.)
I digress.
What I really wanted to share was that musician/producer duo (and friends of the list) Shannon Curtis and Jamie Hill released their latest “80s Kids” track yesterday.
The series functions as their own personal misogi challenge. Their goal is to make their own versions of classic, iconic songs that improve on the originals.
Talk about pushing limits!
(In my opinion, they are succeeding.)
Hunting high and low,
James
P.S. Listen here to find out which song it is (though I’ve hinted at it already 🙂
