Lots of smart, organized, ‘on-it’ type people likely know this as an obvious fact of life. But it took me a while to stumble upon it (and I forget it often). So in case you’re anything like me, here’s a reminder:
A successful day begins with a well-thought out plan, made the night before.
If you’re going to write in the morning, lay out your pen and your book in the place you’ll do the writing.
If you’re going running first thing, put your shoes by the door.
If you start your day with a pot of coffee, gather what you’ll need on the counter so it’s the easiest thing to do when you get up.
The days where I’ve remembered this the night before are always the ones where I’m the most productive. They’re the ones where I get the most done, get it done early, and feel satisfied before the morning’s even over.
Here’s hoping tomorrow is one of those days,
James
