If you’ve ever tried to balance working for yourself with working for someone else, you know how hard it is to put yourself first.
(i.e. Working on vs. working in the business, which I’ve been banging on about.)
But put yourself first you must!
At least chronologically.
Because most of us are way more likely to keep working as our energy winds down later in the day if it’s for someone else.
Lately, I’ve been quite taken with the idea of setting aside a personal Marketing Morning. And I thought it would make a good Tactical Tuesday piece.
The concept has its roots in all sorts of people’s work. But it was Austin Church’s Morning Marketing Habit that inspired the catchy alliterative phrase. Though, I haven’t taken his course of the same name (yet, lol). I feel like it’s one of those concepts where the title says it all.
So that’s it: Set aside some time for your own marketing—first thing in the morning—every morning.
I’m just getting into the swing of it, but wow, is it a great way to start the day!
Oh, what a beautiful mornin’,
James
P.S. For example, today, I combined the power of a session in Mai-kee Tsang’s Co-Working Cove community and a session with the great Achim Rothe. Result? We finished and launched the first of a LinkedIn series I am SO tickled with: “Is this your website at a party?”
Here’s the first graphic, massive credit to Achim for the brilliant template design! (It’s linked to the post, in case you want to see it in the wild.)
