Have you ever felt like you wish you could turn off the world for a spell — even if just for an hour or so?
I’ve long fantasized about a space where I’m immersed in cool (but not cold) water while all the things I’m stressed about float away.
Temporary oblivion.
Non-chemical temporary oblivion, to be clear.
Well, tonight, I’m going to live that dream.
If you don’t hear from me tomorrow, it might be because I’ve decided to make this my new home:
Dream Pod 2 waiting for me… |
Kayte bought me a session at a place called Surface Float, and I have to say I am quite excited to see what it’s like.
Of course, everyone has stress.
Many people have minds that don’t shut off.
But/And I feel like business owners/founders have this extra layer of not-able-to-shut-it-off-ness. I think it comes from never knowing where the next great idea for your business might come from.
And not wanting to let it slip through your fingers.
So I’m thinking (hoping) that this float might just be the sensory deprivation I’ve been waiting for.
What about you?
Ever tried a float? What do you do to completely unplug? Do you ever?
Spiritualized,
James
P.S. In case you were wondering which kid was me in yesterday’s soccer photo: Back row, second kid from the left.
