It’s that time of year – especially in the b2b tech and SaaS world – when you reconnect with your clients and customers for the first time in what feels like ages.
And it can be a bit of a wrench.
If you take your longest time off around these holidays, it’s been 2+ weeks since you last talked to them.
Or thought about their needs.
Or thought about how you help them.
And that’s the critical piece. The reason they’re your clients and customers is because you help them with something. Something they can’t do without you (or someone like you…but hopefully you, a topic for another day).
Which makes this the perfect time to reframe that uncomfortable “what’s this all about again?” feeling.
Perhaps it’s a bit strong, but I think the analogy of falling back in love is not too far off.
You remember what you like about them, what you don’t like about them, and what it is that makes yours a great partnership; what you get and what they get out of it.
You accept them because of their flaws and foibles, not in spite of them, and do your level best to make them shine.
It’s like we’re writing a b2b holiday romcom,
James
